The History of Republic Day of India and What it Means to the People of India


The Republic Day of India is an important day in the Indian calendar. It celebrates the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26th January, 1950.

The day is celebrated with great pomp and show all over India. The president hoists the National Flag at the Red Fort, New Delhi, at 8:00am on 26th January every year. This ceremony is attended by dignitaries, politicians and citizens.

There are many other events that take place on this day which include parades, military displays and cultural shows by various states.

Chief Guest of Republic Day 2022

Due to Covid-19 situation no foreign dignitaries were invited this time as Chief Guest during the events around 26 January but India was planning to invite the leaders of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for the Delhi Republic Day parade 2022.

The first day of the Republic Day celebrations was held in Rajpath in the year 1955.
During the Republic Day of India celebration, the President of India is given the salute of 3x artisans.

The Republic Day of India glorified on 26th January is the day when the Constitution of our mother country came into effect on this day in 1950. The Republic Day is one of the three national festivals of India, the reason here is that it is celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm by everyone. On the occasion of Republic Day celebrations on 26 January many programs like Parade and cultural programs are organized throughout the country. That's why it's veritably important that we give due respect to this special day and celebrate it together so that this concinnity and integrity of our country is maintained in this way. 

Why celebrate Republic Day?

The main reason for celebrating Republic Day is that on this day the constitution of our country came into effect. However there is another history of this day, which is quite interesting. It was started in the Congress of the Indian National Congress in December 1929 under the chairmanship of Pandit Nehru in Lahore. In which it was announced by Congress that if India had not been given an autonomous status till 26th January 1930, then India would declare itself completely independent, then Congress started its active movement from that day on to achieve complete independence. This is the reason that when our country was liberated, on this day of 26 January the election was elected for the constitution.

Republic Day isn't a festivity day, it's the day when our India country has attained complete freedom because indeed though India came independent on August 15, 1947, but it became completely independent on 26 January 1950 Withdrawing the 'Government of India Act' day, India's newly formed Constitution was implemented. Thus, on this day of 26th January that day, it was celebrated in India as Republic Day. It is one of the three national festivals of India, apart from this, there are two other Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day.

This is a public vacation throughout the country on this day, this is the reason that its program is celebrated in numerous places like Vidyalaya and the factory a day ahead. On this day, many types of cultural programs are organized along with the distribution of sweets in the schools. The grand ceremony of this day takes place in the Rajpath of New Delhi, where many types of pendants and parades are extracted. This day of Republic Day is a day which explains the importance of the Constitution of our country, here is the reason that this day is celebrated with so much glamor throughout the country.

For the first time on January 26, 1930, the program of full Swaraj was celebrated. In which, it was decided to get complete independence from the British rule.
During the Republic Day parade, a Christian sound is played, which is named "Abby with Me" because this sound is one of Mahatma Gandhi's favorite sounds.

Republic Day Celebration

On January 26, this program of Republic Day in Rajpath, New Delhi is celebrated veritably grandly. At the same time, it has been rehearsed to invite a particular foreign guest on Republic Day, and numerous times numerous guests are also invited under it. On this day the tricolor is hoisted first by the President of India and after that all the people present there stand together inclusively and sing the public hymn. 

 After this numerous types of artistic and traditional pendants are uprooted, which are relatively lovable to look at. At the same time, the most special event of this day is cortege, which is veritably agitated for people to see. This cortege is started by the Prime Minister after putting flowers on Amar Jawan Jyoti located on Rajpath. It takes part in the Indian Army's colorful Troop, Air Force and Navy. 

This is the program by which India exhibits its strategic and diplomatic power and gives the message to the world that we are capable of protecting ourselves. 
This program of Republic Day celebrations is also very important for India's foreign policy as the arrival of the chief guests of various countries invited in this program gives India an opportunity to expand relations with their countries.

Republic Day is one of the three public carnivals of our country, it's the day that makes us feel the significance of our Republic. This is the reason that it's celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the country. At the same time, this is also the day when India exhibits its strategic power, which isn't to terrify anyone but to give a communication that we're able of guarding ourselves. This day of January 26 is a literal jubilee for our country, so we should celebrate this jubilee with full zeal and respect.
