Sweden-based global music streaming giant Spotify is planning to launch its operations in India by the end of this month.

According to the reports, preparation plans were made public by mistake through its India Terms and Conditions page. However, the page has now been replaced by the previous terms and conditions.

With the film and music company T-series located in New Delhi, the company is right after the signing of the global content deal. This step will allow Spotify users to access the list of T-series of Bollywood and regional songs, and it is being seen as a step in the country to launch it.

Earlier in November 2018, reports said that Spotify is looking for starting its operations in India within the coming six months. The company also said that deals with some popular music companies.

The Spotify India launch was going on for a long time; While there were so many rumors and reports in the past, nothing has happened so far. However, things are getting faster than expected and the latest we hear that the company is on the verge of bringing its services in India. The launch is going to be on March 7 th as soon as possible.

Spotify was launched in 2006 by Martin Lorentzon and currently claims 200 Mn global monthly active users. It wants to expand its operations in India from March this year. Apart from this, the company has also appointed Amarjeet Singh Batra, former CEO of OLEX India as its country chief and also got Savan Executive Gaurav Malik on board.

The competition is gonna be tough for Spotify because of the other grown platforms such as Gaana , Saavn , JioMusic and etc.

In addition to the T-series, Spotify is yet to sign deals with Sony and Warner Music for the availability of full-fledged content in India, so if Spotify is serious about launch on March 7 th, then things should be fast. India is a cost-sensitive market, we hope that Spotify understands the market's dynamism and prices are correct. Stay tuned for more information.
